back to watching new demos again. trixter's getting on my case to make a proper mc3 playlist, as well he should. plus it's about damned time i put these twin radeon 4850s to use. god, full framerate 1920x1200 is beautiful, i won't be too dazzled by blu-ray but hopefully others will. :)
so, a little rant. i'm a bit upset at how hopelessly behind north american coding and design is to europe. i don't know which is worse, being laughed at and flamed, or being patronized with a figurative pat on head and "oh look! you made a cube! good job!". why is it that every shred of talent here immediately jumps to hollywood or video games, because god forbid we express our creativity and *not* get paid for it. ok, done for now.

so, old raised trucks are the new rice rocket around here, it seems. but it makes sense - parents had big trucks and suvs, so kids got compacts to rebel. parents started getting more economic vehicles, kids had to rebel the other way.

after a couple long trips, the c30 aka silver moose is up to 27.4 lifetime average mpg.. i'm somewhat proud because it's above the epa highway rating.
nothing mindblowing but the weekend was productive and restful. now to start planning out summer weekends. i came back to this and now have more reasons to avoid twitter and television:

ok, i'm feeling like i belong less and less in hartford. i want to meet people, but tonight many of the people i have met here didn't seem to be too happy to see me. i think i'm in the right crowd, i admire and respect these people a lot. it's just that i want more creative and less cocktail. coming up on 33 has given me the realization that i need to look into taking several months off working and reposition myself - even in this economy. most importantly, sincerity and real love just seem too difficult to find around here.

i'm back to feeling like the last single person on earth tonight. yahoo personals is full of russian scammers, and fastcupid finds me girls whose profiles consist of one sentence. so the real world it is again, although i feel like i'd have better luck running into someone in new york.
also, i hate having my creative energy peak at 2 pm, when i can't do a damn thing about it.
ok, st. pat's weekend coming up, foolery and all that.

zomg! i didn't realize schism tracker emulated adlib instruments! now i don't need dosbox to hear my only adlib/digital s3m i ever did 15 years ago anymore. :)

i'm home - sick - seems there's something going around, and i made it healthy through most of the winter. i somehow have a yearning for fast food. of course, getting away from work for one full day is difficult, and while i already went through emails, i'm debating heading in for a brief while, just so i have less to worry about.
new psb and depeche mode singles have lifted my spirits up. that and scene-related plans for the next few months. no new girlfriend on the horizon but i never give up hope. i kind of miss my old one (or am i just light-headed?). still debating a move, although the kick-ass frenzy/outre club combo in hartford is making that more difficult.
